Lucy has grown the shows from small monthly village hall markets into large highly attended and regarded interior shows held at prestigious venues and country estates.

Lucy Haywood is the creator of The Country Brocante – home and lifestyle fairs held in idyllic rural surroundings. In Country Brocante Style, she introduces her pretty and accessible signature look into the home, fusing two classic and enduring decorating traditions – English country style and French-inspired vintage styling. There’s plenty of classic French ‘brocanterie’ – old textiles, vintage furniture and decorative pieces – alongside lifestyle brands, gardenalia, handmade textiles, cottage-garden flowers and other homewares.
In the first section, Country Brocante Style, Lucy leads you through the colour palette of the Brocantes and discusses key pieces of furniture and decorative pieces before presenting creative ideas for putting the look together. In the second section, Country Brocante Interiors, she pays a visit to the homes of the dealers and the buyers who flock to the fairs.

The fair brings together some of the finest in small interior businesses, scouring the countryside for unique and brilliant merchants and makers and putting them together makes for a really creative and exciting shopping experience. Over the years the way we seek out new businesses has changed so much, we no longer take off to the high streets for Saturday shopping, we want something special, unique and ethical for our homes. We also hark back to a time when things were slower and more gentle, the fair allows us to meet the makers and find out about the back story of a piece of furniture or special textile. We link up and find each other over the internet, through social media, which is amazing, but the true magic is found in real life touch and feel. And that is where The Country Brocante comes to life.

Lucy's passion for mixing French and English interiors and antiques is the running thread in the look and feel for the shows. Over the years this has developed to include artisans and makers, fashion, design and garden businesses. Lucy feels passionate about providing a platform for creative and small businesses who want to be seen and found in only beautiful venue and curated events. More recently we have also welcomed some larger brands and well-known businesses who have come on board as sponsors, who also want to meet their customers face to face.
