On Saturday the 18th of September, The Country Brocante will be returning for its fifth year to the inspirational Daylesford Organic Farm near Kingham, Gloucestershire on the same day as Daylesford hosts their wonderful Harvest Festival.
The Fair offers, not only a truly independent shopping experience but also an opportunity to immerse oneself in a quintessentially English country garden atmosphere. Visitors can browse the antique and vintage stalls in the marquee, stroll through the garden rooms and pause for lunch or a cup of tea and a slice of cake in the tea rooms. There will be an abundance of interesting curiosities, pretty vintage homewares, plants and flowers, old garden tools and accessories, simple French enamelware and piles of gorgeous antique fabrics and quilts.
The Fair also features a carefully curated selection of new designers and artisans offering beautiful handmade jewellery, homewares and accessories to compliment the vintage collections.
We have a new design and show layout for social distancing and COVID safety.
The annual Harvest Festival is a wonderful way to celebrate the variety of autumnal fare available in September, to give thanks for the season’s abundance and connect with nature before winter closes in.
This year the Market Garden will come to life once again with stalls, feasts, honey displays, chutney and jam making competitions, cookery demonstrations and more.

About the talk
Escape into a world of flowers and dogs, Grace Alexander will be sharing how flower farming, seedmongery and writing about gardens and nature are the perfect foil to her day job as a clinical psychologist. Hear about the process of writing her book, Grow and Gather, and how you can grow joy and happiness as well as blooms.
My name is Grace Alexander. I am a consultant clinical psychologist with a quarter-of-an-acre flower field, a kitchen garden and delusions of self-sufficiency, three long-haired dogs and a hankering after a pet goat, a love of writing and a taste for coffee. As well as being a seed-merchant and founding ‘Gather with Grace Alexander’, I have also just published my first book, Grow and Gather, with Quadrille. When I say I know what it means to need some escapism, you can trust me that I really do know what that means.
About the business
Grace launched Gather with Grace Alexander in August 2020. Gather is a place for people who adore plants, gardens, colour and beauty. For people who need to step away from the noise and stress of things, who want to open a little chink in their day-to-day life, and let a bit of flower magic in. Having a monthly membership gives access to exclusive words, images, films from Grace and other top flower growers and florists, and a private, members-only Instagram account for those of us who want to fill our lives with flowers and beauty.
Talk at 12 noon.
As late summer gives way to autumn, come and watch Claire of Honeysuckle and Hilda demonstrate how to make a beautiful foam free arrangement using seasonal flowers as well as autumn foliage and lots of textures.
Combining her modern take on garden style arrangements with vintage vases, Claire will also talk about the influence of Constance Spry who, so influential during her lifetime, is now being rediscovered by a new generation of floral artists.
She will also be signing copies of her book, The Healing Power of Flowers (Ebury, 2021).
Demonstrations at 11am and 2pm.
